Tech Guru Theme Updates

The first "sit down" with Adaptivethemes to see what is needed to create a Guru42 theme was pretty productive.  In one evening pretty much got the entire theme done.  Just some questions to answer on the heading area and scale down the font size a bit.

Seriously, I just starting updating sites to Drupal 7.44 and today 7.50 is released!  Seriously -->  drupal 7.50!  -->  https://www.drupal.org/project/drupal/releases/7.50

Breadcrumbs

The only frustration was finding where to shut off breadcrumbs.  Adaptive themes does not use standard breadcrumbs settings in the sense that the default answer is "Remove  echo $breadcrumb; from page.tpl.php" and the themes do not use a page.tpl.php just added references below FWIW

Is it possible to disable breadcrumbs?

Short answer: Remove  echo $breadcrumb; from page.tpl.php of your theme.

Long answer: http://drupal.org/node/64348

Found the method of doing it within Adaptivethemes:  Theme Settings --> Layout & General Settings --> Extensions --> Enable extensions (global setting)
--> Markup Overrides

 One minor rant and lesson re-learned -- One small close bracket  --> "}"  accedentially deleted and all is broken!

A little bit of geek speak

Blurbs to add to the new sites currently in development:

TerraHab: This websites is bulit using the Drupal content manage system (CMS) with the Corolla sub theme based on the AdaptiveThemes core theme. No modifications to the theme itself being done at this time. 1) I want to focus on content for this site not theme. 2) Using the stock unmodified sub theme will help to understand it and use lessons learned to create the modified subthemes to be used on other Guru42 sites.

Altered Automotive: This websites is bulit using the Drupal content manage system (CMS) with the pixture_reloaded sub theme based on the AdaptiveThemes core theme.
